Awesome, Marie. Knowing who you're not is just as important as knowing who you are. I'm not about the hustle culture either, just feeding the machine and losing ourselves in the process. I want to live slowly, meaningfully, joyfully.
And it takes trial and error, some deep reflection, and courage to do so and go against our modern culture.
Hope this time brings you peace and fulfillment :)
I agree, with a reserve or two. I agree that you need to do things for you. Earning money by building someone else's generational wealth (that's what a standard job is) isn't the best use of your time. Build something for you, if possible.
If you need to take a year off or whatever, to strategize or even just recharge, do it. But also realize that in an ideal scenario we must make sufficient capital while still young so that when we are not yet old we can live off the ROI. No one needs to be Bill Gates rich. But it's certainly convenient to be 50 years old or less and not worry about expenses, because your accumulation of capital before hitting 50 is producing enough so you don't need to work anymore.
That's my biggest reservation. That you're not only stopping the accumulating, you're also dipping into what you've already accumulated.
You do you, Marie. Whatever sails your boat. You’re not answerable to anyone but to your future self. It’s a hard choice sometimes to decide between career and doing what your soul craves for. I hope you find the balance.
Hi Marie! I think that I think you're incredibly courageous to decide to go after what your heart truly desires, and don't follow that voice that needs to predict and figure out everything in detail.
I'm completely convinced that life is on the side of the courageous, action-taking beings, and that everything will become clear along the way.
Good for you Marie! Investing financially in yourself is the best decision you can make. The second best decision is to have faith in yourself, which can sometimes be harder! I applaud your courage for bucking the system and moving through what speaks to you. I can't wait to see what comes next!
I concur with you on the point - freedom matters more than the rest. I wish you happy sabbatical and hope you enjoy the time and rediscover yourself. Remember, the community is always open.
Oh Marie. This was lovely (again). I'm glad you're taking care of yourself. Not everyone is able or capable of doing that. I love your writing. You are a writer, amongst other things. Take your time. We'll be here (hustling). Just kidding! I don't like the "hustle" either. Be safe. Take care. I'll think about you! 💖 Thanks for being honest and sharing! Cheers.
I hope you find what you’re looking for.
Have you read the alchemist? Good book. Lots of good thinking there.
Thank you Martin! I have read it years ago, but should read it again!
I just bought the audiobook. Thanks for mentioning the book because it’s really good 😊

So true that it takes trial and error, Vinny!
Right? Gotta try different things until we discover what sort of life we really want! I appreciate the comment, Gayle!

We also need to live for the now, not always for the future.
No doubt. Just don't accidentally sacrifice the future for the now.
I do wish, someday I do the same.
Following the inner conscience in seeking peace 🕊️

I'd wear the t-shirt saying: I'm choosing freedom. Let's gooo!

Have a great sabbatical Marie, and you know your audience will still be here when you return!

You're listening to yourself, that's amazing! Celebrating this with you Marie!
Kudos for choosing freedom! I did it 6 months back and I have enjoyed my sabbatical thoroughly. :)
Wishing you a great sabbatical!!
This is amazing and so happy for you.
I wish you the absolute best. Healing a difficult journey (as someone going through their own journey). Enjoy the time to find your peace.
