2. eBook Beat Boredom
It’s becoming notoriously hard to be focused and productive at work and in life.
Add a boring job to it, and you’ll have the perfect recipe for unhappiness.
→ You don’t believe you add value to your job.
→ You are becoming the procrastination King/Queen.
→ You don’t feel like you are living to your full potential.
→ You don’t feel seen or dare to say you are bored and not busy.
If only you had the tools to ditch the boredom and become hyper-focused, you could:
→ Stop being so damn bored all the time.
→ Get clarity on your goals and purpose in life.
→ Find pleasure and happiness in your work again.
→ Become hyperfocused instead of the master procrastinator.
But most of all to become yourself again.
Well, it turns out I can help you to kickstart your transformation:.
It took me 4 years to beat my chronic boredom.
And a lot of Trial and Error.
You don’t have to go through the same long journey.

3. 30-day Social Media Detox
Hi there 👋
It's amazing that you’re embarking on this challenge. It takes guts to go cold turkey, but it’s the only way to get rid of bad habits.
I used to be heavily addicted to social media, especially Instagram. I would spend hours a day scrolling endlessly and just watching other people’s lives, feeling jealous, insecure and depressed. I wanted to live the life those unknown people were presenting to me.
At the time, I was struggling with boredom at work, which led to even more procrastination and social media addiction. But I realised I didn’t want to continue that way. I bought some productivity books and educated myself on focus. The book Deep Work by Cal Newport was life-changing for me.
He challenged his readers to go 30 days without social media and to evaluate after. I took on the challenge and I never went back.
Here is what he wrote:
“Ban yourself from using them for thirty days. All of them: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat - or whatever other services have risen to popularity since I first wrote these words. Don’t formally deactivate these services, and (this is important) don’t mention online that you’ll be signing off: just stop using them, cold turkey.
After thirty days of this self-imposed network isolation, ask yourself the following two questions about each of the services you temporarily quit:
Would the last thirty days have been notably better if I had been able to use this service?
Did people care that I wasn’t using this service?
If the answer is “no” to both questions, quit the service permanently. If your answer was a clear “yes”, then return to using the service.”
(ps I highly recommend reading his book)
You are here because you already know Social Media is not doing you any good.
So, let’s get into the nitty-gritty of how you will tackle this challenge.
📱 First some basic to-do’s:
Delete every social media app from your phone (Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, Youtube, News,…). Any app you spend an unusual amount of time on. (For example, I recently deleted the email app from my phone because I was checking it uncontrollably)
Block the websites on the browser you use on your phone (Safari, Chrome,…) - you can find how here for iPhone and here for Android (Chrome)
Install Cold Turkey on your web browser and block the website from entering. https://getcoldturkey.com/ (they have a free version, but I recommend investing the 35$ for this application because it’s the best one I have found so far)
I know this all sounds extreme, but you need to go extreme. You otherwise find ways to enter the platform anyway. Trust me, I’ve been there. I still use and need Cold Turkey. I get addicted to new apps, and every time I go through this cycle again, I delete the app, block access in any way, and allow access only certain times a day if I need it for my work.
I hope you have the courage to follow the above steps! If you did, big congrats. The worst is over.
😄😄😄
✅ Second, set some stats and tick some boxes
It’s always cool to track your growth and compare day 1 with day 30. That’s why I suggest writing down some stats.
What is your average screen time today?
How many times do you pick up the phone, on average?
How many notifications do you get on average per day?
You can find all this information under your phone's settings - screen time tab.
Write them down, and we’ll compare the numbers at the end of the challenge.
I also created a nice habit tracker for you guys so you can follow up on your own evolution. It’s a way to keep yourself accountable, and ticking off a box releases dopamine.
Feel free to use it, you can find it here:
Quit Social Media - Accountability Tracker
🎯 Want to go next level?
Additional things you can do to make your phone the least attractive object in the room and to gain back even more precious time:
Turn off ALL notifications (yes, also whatsapp)
Use focusmode by default
Change the colour of your screen to grayscale
Quit reading the news
👊🏻 Lastly, let’s get started!!
We start on the 1st of May 2024 and will kick it off with a small group call.
If you want access to the community channel, let me know in the comments.
And that’s it. Let’s not overcomplicated. The goal is clear.
Just do it. I’m sure you can 💪🏻
What you will gain out of this challenge:
More time
More clarity
Less FOMO
Better focus
More freedom
More work done
More enjoying life
Less depressive feelings
More being in the moment
Less comparing what others are doing
I mean, the list is endless.
You know why it’s good for you!
