Very refreshing post! Really appreciate the honesty here. I wish more people would just admit it's hard to find your way here. And that it doesn't mean you'll succeed if you just apply the rules that worked well for someone else... You just have to experiment and find what works best for you!
Welcome back, Marie. I work about 4 hours a day so lemme know if you want some tips! ;) Was actually thinking about writing a little something about it, but more related to productivity traps. I’m excited to see how you get on!
I haven’t yet! But will in the future! I don’t want to steal Marie’s thunder here, but I’ll eventually write about it via my Substack called The Cool Aunt.
Thanks for the insights. I’m looking at starting on Substack and I have no idea what that means. Sounds like you learned a lot in one year. I wish you the best in 2025.
Amazing! I really appreciate your honesty about your experience. It really resonated with me. I tend to be on the delulu magical side of things - but I also understand that it’s also work - so there’s a balance between the delulu and taking action in this reality to make it happen. That’s my jam - exploring the intersection between those two things. Keep on, keeping on - your writing is inspiring those of us that are a few steps behind you!
This is honestly so inspiring! I just started on Substack and I’m growing quickly and grateful but I just want to be sure that I use my platform wisely and make it profitable while also staying fun. I’ve created online businesses before and I’d love to sustain my biz through Substack and this gave me hope! Thanks for your kindness, your vulnerability in showing your excel sheet, and your raw advice!
Something about this post the algorithm loved you as you were at the top of my box today. I know last year was bumpy for you in many ways. I really enjoyed reading this and couldn't agree with you harder. The hardest bit I think is keeping going when you seem to be going backwards and keeping the faith. I too set really big goals for myself but don't quite have the self-acceptance you have yet. I need to take a leaf from you and be kinder to myself.
Pretty new to Substack, and just discovering you now. What a great read, really enjoyed it. Going to go back and start from the beginning of the journey
I love your experimental approach to it all, Marie! I believe you were one of the first writers I happened upon when I joined a few months ago - it's very cool to be along for your journey <3 Excited to see what's next! x
I appreciated how you included your rule or habit: one article published on Friday by 6 p.m. CST. Something like that might work for me. Formulas—I’ll just say ‘no’ to that notion. I believe I'm better served by keeping my goals modest.
I love everything about this article ❤️
Thank you Sema 🧡🙏🏻 means a lot!
